Hello Tcoop. For the most efficient operation, the appliance should be located where surrounding temperatures will not exceed 110°F (43°C). Temperatures of 32°F (0°C) and below will NOT affect operation. Additional compressor heaters are not recommended. This particular model freezer is produced in China. ~ Anna

Yes, you are able to install this model in a garage. However, it is recommended for the freezer not to be installed where the temperature will drop below 55 degrees Fahrenheit or rise above 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
