Hi RickG! For proper ventilation, the Frigidaire FFFU16F2VW upright freezer requires specific minimum clearances on all sides. Sides and Top: At least 3 inches of clearance on both sides and the top. Back: A minimum of 2 inches of clearance at the back. -Chris
