Hi, Billyboy! The ice maker will dump ice in a full tray as needed, and can hold up to 2.65 pounds of ice at a time. It will stop once it's full, but you can continue to empty it to make up to 26 pounds in 24 hours. ~Ashton

never measured. makes a batch of about a dozen large cubes in about 10 minutes. we have two of these units. we use one every day at home and have one in our recreational vehicle for vacations. we've been very pleased with this product
