Provided one uses a cutting board or harder surface-material over top of unit it should be fine. I would highly recommend one is aware that heavy items could easily scratch or dent the unit and the refrigeration mechanics can easily be compromised on any fridge when dropped from above or with even the slightest force.

When installing this appliance, please allow the following clearances for ease of installation, proper air circulation, and plumbing and electrical connections: Sides & Top- 3 inches and Back- 4 inches.
