Does it plug in. Does it plug in? I have an overhead range hood that is wired into the wall can this be hooked up to it. We would like to remove it and put a microwave in its place.

YES IT DOES. CORD EXITS THE TOP OF THE MICROWAVE.
YOU WILL HAVE TO ADD A WALL PLUG.

I had exactly the situation With hard wired hood. This came with nice cord with a plug so I simply installed a duplex outlet box and kept the plug on unit and plugged in....super easy

Not sure I understand your question, but all microwaves require plugin into a wall socket.
