There is a paper template that is taped to the wall. Then a metal strip about one inch wide is attached to the wall. The microwave slips into this bracket at the bottom. Then screws are drilled through the top of a cabinet that is above this. Holes must be drilled beforehand. I don't know if there is a way to hang it without the top cabinet. I know it does not attach to the oven though.

This bracket secures the bottom of the microwave against the wall. The top front of the microwave is secured to the cabinet above with 3 3/12" long 1/4-28 screws. In both cases, a paper template is provided to locate, mark and drill the correct holes. The microwave is lifted up at an angle, and the tabs on the wall bracket align with slots on the bottom of the unit. You then pivot the unit up and insert the screws through the upper cabinet. If the upper cabinet has a lip on the bottom, as most do, cut a block of wood just slightly less than the thickness of that lip, and rest it directly behind the screws. This will prevent you from overtightening the screws, and warping the bottom of the cabinet. It is necessary for the electrical cord to come through a hole drilled in the cabinet above (template provided) so the microwave will properly sit flush on the back wall.
