If you are hearing popping sounds it is normal as it is a heat cause contraction, but it can also be cause by a loose connection. The oven is set to operate with certain tones (default settings) that alert you to certain oven functions. The silent operation feature allows the oven control to be operated without sounds when necessary. To set the oven control for silent operation you would need to press and hold both the light icon and the clock icon at the same time for a few seconds until the display sounds an acceptance tone. AUd should appear in the display. If Aud is not showing, press the + key in the upper part of the display until AUd appears and HI is showing in the lower part of the display.
