• Yes! I don’t take my watch on my runs anymore and it tracks my route every time. You just have to wait for it to connect to GPS before starting but it gives you a notification of this.

• The device offers it's own GPS so that may depend on what type of navigation you're wanting to use the device for. You may want to go to support.garmin.com where you'll find many FAQ's and video's on the device functions.
