The GPS feature on the Forerunner 235 does have the ability to track GPS activities, but was not designed with mountain biking in mind. There are options to set the device up to show speed and distance information. you would see the route you took on the trails after syncing the activity, but the Forerunner 235 was designed primarily as a running watch.
