• You can receive the notification of the message with simple response. Again this connects to your phone and displays the notification.

• My experience on an Android phone: You can see, read and even sometimes respond (select from a preloaded list which might be customizable). You can use the built in music control to play, pause, skip forward or backward, and control volume for Spotify, YouTube music and YouTube at least. Likely it works with any app which exposes those types of controls.
