I don't know any tracker that's really accurate. I did a 5 k race, the tracker said I did just under 3 miles instead of the 3.1 that the race was.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Garmin trackers like the Vivosmart HR and the Vivoactive HR seemed to be very accurate. I tried other devices (Microsoft Band 2 and Ipod) with less that good results. I tested it over known distances and even counted steps for short distances as I watched the "step counter" count :) . When I do bike rides my distance matches very closely with my bike tracker computer. The leg action while riding DOES NOT show up as steps, so I would think standing in place and moving your arms will HAVE NO effect on your step count.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That might be an issue. When I'm cleaning the kitchen, it records more steps because I'm scrubbing counters and dishes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I find that it does not track activities that my previous device did track. I have horses and also do a lot of gardening. It does not give me credit for these activities though they are strenuous at times. I do however like my Garmin for it's easy to understand data.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The vivosmart HR is designed to use the nartual arm motion of walking or running to track steps. Any arm motion that might mimic this type of arm motion may cause the device to track steps.
