• The vívofit 2 requires the use of an external heart rate monitor, as it does not have one built in. ^DK

• Hi! Mine came with the heart rate monitor- it's a chest strap. I was worried at first but it's easy to use and comfortable, and syncs well to the fitness band. As long as you're wearing the monitor, you can choose to display your heart rate on the band continuously.
