• The USB ANT stick that comes with the vívofit is used to transfer workout data to Garmin Connect on your computer. As far as charging goes, the vívofit has a 1+ year battery life and does not need to be recharged. Instead, the batteries can be replaced when needed. Thanks! (KS)

• I use the app on my phone to sync the data. The stick or chip is for your computer if you will be syncing it to a PC.

• No the stick is used to pair the item with the chest strap to monitor heart rate if you got that accessory. Or to pair w your computer
