A:AnswerHi - Thanks for viewing GE! We comply with all federal, state and international requirements regarding hazardous substances and meet those standards. We also comply with federal and state chemical labeling laws, like California Proposition 65. The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe or poses a health risk. Over 800 chemicals are on this list, including wood dust, nickel (found in stainless steel), nicotine, and alcohol. Additionally, even inaccessible parts can cause the warning. We can understand your concern; however, we do not provide detailed information about what causes the Prop 65 warning to apply. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

A:AnswerHello Home2 - If a power failure should occur, a microwave, depending on the model, may display a "PF", "888" or "8888" code.
It is possible to see this display upon initial installation or after power was restored due to a power failure. Both display codes can be cancelled and normal operation resumed by touching the CLEAR pad. You may now reset the clock on models so equipped. - TREY@GEA
A:AnswerHow can I use my microwave without having to open and close the door to just get rid of a stupid message saying insert food when food is in it. The idea that I have to open and close it to just get it do what it was built to do is wild. Like what brain dead moron came up with that idea. Add a weight sensor in it instead and if the sensor doesn’t sense weight on the plate then it doesn’t cook. Considering how easy it is to use a weight sensor there shouldn’t be some insert food bs because the latch wasn’t touched recently then never works because I refuse to open and close it just to cook my dam food that’s already in there.
A:AnswerHello LDSINKG - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. It is normal to feel a warm outer case on the control panel side. The heat is normal and comes from the power transformer. Further, cooking foods in a microwave oven for an extended period of time can cause a heat transfer not only to the internal oven walls and floor, but to the external cabinet as well. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerI had the exact same problem. Unless you want to spend $375 on the GE model that replaces the Spacemaker, this one is fine. It will not fill the space but I just put a few cookbooks next to it.
