QuestionMy GE JEM31SF01 will not turn off unless I leave the door open. If I close the door it makes a horrible noise however it still heats food. Suggestions on how to fix it or is it time for a new one?
Asked 8 years ago by MGus.
- Answer Hi MGus- We are sorry to hear of this unfortunate experience. You may want to reset the electronics by unplugging or by turning off power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so. Model JEM31SF01 was manufactured 2002-2007. Due to age, you may want to consider a replacement. The latest model is GE Profile™ Series 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEM31SFSS. Check out the Quick Specs for details: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=PEM31SF_EF_BM_FM_R2_17.pdf - We certainly appreciate your loyalty and glad to have you in the GE Appliances Family! QuestionI need to replace a GE Profile Model JEM31SFO1 microwave. My current machine is approximately 23.75 inches wide fitting into a 24 inch wide space. Will the GE PEM31SFSS #339 replacement work? What other options are recommended? Thanks.
Asked 8 years ago by GBinthekitchen.
- Answer Hi GBinthekitchen - GE Profile™ Series 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEM31SFSS is the latest model. Approximate Product Dimensions (WxHxD) (in.) 24 in x 12 1/8 in x 12 7/8 in. If installed in a cabinet, a trim kit is required. We suggest to view the Quick Specs at the following link for cabinet cutout dimensions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=PEM31SF_EF_BM_FM_R2_17.pdf - We also offer GE® 0.7 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven JEM3072SHSS. Approximate Product Dimensions (WxHxD) (in.) 17 1/4 in x 10 1/8 in x 13 in. This unit cannot be installed in a cabinet with trim kit. Microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. We recommend 3" of clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA

QuestionI have a JEM25GY Spacemaker II with a built in kit JX827BN. It died after 17 years of good service. I believe the PEM31DFBB may work as a replacement. Is that true? (cut out Width = 24 3/4", H 15", D 18"). I still have the mounting kit. Can I reuse?
Asked 8 years ago by Anonymous.
- Answer Hi - Thanks for your loyalty! GE Profile™ Series 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEM31DFBB is the comparable replacement. It is compatible with GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX827DFBB and Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX830DFBB. Trim Kits are not interchangeable. QuestionWhat model would best replace my existing GE microwave, It is a stainless steel model GE Profile, model PEM31sm3ss
Asked 8 years ago by Hans.
- Answer Hello Hans! The PEM31SFSS is the replacement for your microwave. It will fit into your existing cut-out space; however, the old trim kit will not work with the new model. The PEM31SFSS will need either the JX827SFSS (27"W kit) or JX830SFSS (30"W kit), depending on your overall cabinet width. I'm glad you checked with us! LEDA@GEA
