These are all great questions and we are happy to help! Yes, you can replace your old microwave with this model, however there are some dimensional differences you should be aware of. Your old microwave has these dimensions: 16-15/32" x 29-7/8" x 15-1/16" (HxWxD). This microwave has these dimensions: 16-7/16" x 29-7/8" x 15-7/8" (HxWxD). Yes, there is vent on the bottom of this microwave that can help draw away steam from things that are cooking on a range or cooktop below. We do also offer other Stainless Steel over-the-range microwaves that have more features than this model. We suggest checking out: PSA9240SPSS, PVM9225SRSS, and PVM9179SRSS, to name a few.
