I have the same issues. We are remodeling our kitchen and they had to pull the microwave out for work and I was told that a part in the back that should connect to the duct is missing. It is not available through the manufacturer's website and Best Buy was not helpful when I tried to get answers about the part. My contractor said the part was just likely not installed by the installer, or it might not have been in the original box. I don't know as I didn't see everything that was in the package when it was installed. I've passed my return date option, otherwise, I'd probably have it removed and find another microwave.

We do hate to hear there’s some confusion over the venting – we know that may have caused concern. We can advise it is normal to have some air blowing out of the top grill. Regarding whether the microwave is venting to the outside or recirculating inside, we do have installation instructions covering the various venting options, linked here: https://files.bbystatic.com/xfnfoV1Cw0xfCuZO6Hjp%2Bw%3D%3D/0a3b65ac-a5ba-4d17-bfda-bdc1e25175c6.pdf . You may want to check that everything has been set up correctly for outside exhaust; if it has, there should be no issue with your microwave’s venting. We hope this information is helpful. If you need any further assistance with this, or have any other questions or concerns, we are always happy to help. We’re also available over social media if necessary, and we’re wishing you all the best! -Sarah@GEA
