Q: QuestionI have a Frigidaire Microwave model GLMV168CS1 that was vented but now we are putting in new cabinets and are wondering if this model can be switched to a recirculating system using a charcoal system. Can the exhaust fan be switched so it can be used????

Q: QuestionIs there a light on this mocrowave? Also, one place you say the charcoal filter is included for model #JVM3160DFCC for internal venting and one place says you need to purchase. Can you please clarify. Thanks.

• A:Answer Hi MiskaKota- Yes, all GE Over-the-Range Microwaves have cooktop lighting and an interior light. Also, Recirculating Charcoal Filter JX81L is included. As of June 2014, all GE vented over-the-range microwaves and Advantiums are shipped with a charcoal filter (included in the upper packing or with the Owner's Manual), except model GE JVM3150 and Hotpoint RVM5160. It will fit in the same space as your current model, but you will need to use the mounting brackets that come with the new model as they are not interchangeable. We appreciate you checking with us. • A:Answer The microwave can be configured 3 ways. Vent out of the front through a charcoal filter, vent out the back and either up or straight out. You just have to remove two screws and rotate the fan (simple to do) to change.

Q: QuestionJust curious if they sell some type of extender for the front of the microwave that can kind of scoop the smoke. I hate cooking on the front burners (closer to you) because the vent can't capture all the steam/smoke because of the way the unit is set in

• A:Answer Hi Joe908- Thanks for your purchase! We do not offer any options for the exhaust feature. The over-the-range microwave vent system should properly remove most heat, steam, and smoke from the cooktop. If boiling or simmering for long periods of time on the front burners, the vent will not always be capable of capturing all of the excess steam. It may be necessary to use the back burners in this case. Also, these models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. Mounting any higher can affect venting. Thanks for checking with us! SUEatGEA
