Q: QuestionMy old GE microwave, JVM1630WB004 with OUTSIDE BACK EXHAUST (Horizontal Duct) stops working and I bought a JVM3169RFSS to replace it. Is it a good fit for the existing one especially installation and functionality? Thanks!

Q: QuestionI just had a GE microwave installed today. It is black but not the stainless black. I used a paper towel and windex to wipe the outside with and it scratched the panel and the outside of the microwave. How do I get rid of the scratches?

• A:Answer Hello joann - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. We are sorry to learn of your microwave. In the event of a hole in the microwave’s cavity wall, the damage is non-repairable and you should discontinue use of the product. It is also recommended that the microwave be replaced if arcing continues to occur. Minor chips to the coating on the microwave's interior cavity will not affect the product's performance. If the coating is actively flaking or peeling anywhere inside the oven cavity (including under the turntable) discontinue the use of the microwave and replace it. The microwave is not repairable. The cavity coating in GE microwaves is selected to be safely used as a food-contact surface and meets GE’s and applicable government requirements for such use. No lead or other toxic materials are added to the cavity coating material used in GE microwave ovens. The inadvertent ingestion of small amounts of peeling coating does not create a health risk. Q: QuestionThe glass turntable turns but is struggling, making bumping and squeeking sounds as it turns. The specs say turntable is 13-1/2" in diameter, mine is slightly smaller. No sounds when glass is removed. Could I have been provided the wrong size turntable?

• A:Answer It also could be caused by food crumbs or other particles lodged under the turntable wheels. Try taking the apparatus out and cleaning both the wheels and microwave floor.

• A:Answer Hi, I had a GE Spacemaker XL which they do not make anymore. I got the dimensions and went to various stores to see which would work. I found someone that was very knowledgeable about microwaves and he explained that most microwaves are standard unless someone needs/wants a bigger one due to their space. My suggestion is to measure and then pay the extra for the them to install. I like my new microwave because it matches my stove. Hope this helped.
