• Yes, that is correct. This unit can be used with or without outside ventilation.

• Hi Mike- Good question; Non-Vented (also called recirculating or ductless) under cabinet hoods circulate the air through a grease filter then through a charcoal filter to remove odors. The filtered air is then discharged back into the room. Hope this helps; Thanks for checking with Us Kaye @ GE
