A:AnswerHello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Yes, this microwave offers a timer function that can be used at any time, including when the microwave is operating. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHello Captgeb - this is Nancy at GE. We're sorry to hear that your microwave is not working properly and I am happy to help you with a great replacement model.
The good news is that all of our 30" Spacemaker over-the-range microwaves are designed to be installed in the same standard upper cabinet space (30" min. width, 12" min.-13" max. depth, 66" min. mounting height). The height and depth of the models may vary slightly, but any of our new models could work in your current space. A model that you may like is the JVM6175DFWW.
You will need to use the mounting brackets and hardware that come with the new microwave. The mounting kits have changed over the years and are not interchangeable.
I hope this information is helpful! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerHello,
Thank you for your interest in the GE Over-the-Range Microwave model JVM3160DFWW.
The model does not feature a shelf inside. It does have a
Turntable On/Off control which is a great option.

A:AnswerYes, this is normal. This model uses a single vent fan system, and during microwave operation the fan may run to help cool the unit. When the fan is operating, the “Vent” icon will illuminate.
A:AnswerChanging the filter is convenient. To remove the charcoal filter, first disconnect power at the main fuse or circuit breaker, or pull the plug. Remove the top grille by removing only the two screws that hold it in place, as shown. The cabinet doors may need to be opened to remove the screws. Press back on the top of the filter with both hands until the filter lays down almost horizontal. Lift the filter at the bottom until it comes free of the tabs. Slide the filter down and out.
To install a new charcoal filter, remove plastic and other outer wrapping from the new filter. Insert the top of the filter up and into the grooves on both sides of the inside of the top opening. Once the bottom tab is cleared, push the bottom of the filter in until it rests in place vertically behind the tab.
A:AnswerThis over-the-range microwave comes non-vented, which means it is factory set as a recirculating vent. The filter is included with the microwave.
A:AnswerTo change the microwave to 50% power on your model, please follow these steps: Press the Power Level button, then enter 5 using the number pad. Wait five seconds for the display to return to the Cook Time screen, then enter your desired cooking time and press START.
You can find these instructions in your owner's manual on page 8. Visit the Best Buy website, click the Features tab, and then scroll down to Use & Care Manual.
A:AnswerYes, this model features a 300 CFM venting system. It is convertible to external venting and is factory set for recirculating operation with the charcoal filter included.
A:AnswerThis microwave does not include a camera. You can view the full specifications by clicking on See All Specifications located on the product page.
A:AnswerThe Reset Filter message is a timed reminder designed to prompt you to change the charcoal filter. It will illuminate approximately every six months. This feature does not detect when the filter is actually dirty; it operates on a preset timer. The charcoal filter typically needs to be replaced every 6–12 months.
After the filter has been changed, if applicable, place your finger over the words “Reset Filter” and press and hold for 3 seconds. The indicator light will then reset and turn off.
If the light remains on after doing this, disconnect power to the microwave for a minute or two by unplugging it or switching off the circuit breaker. Then restore power and check whether the indicator has reset.
If your microwave is vented externally, a charcoal filter is not required, and you can simply reset the indicator light.
