Questionhi, I need to replace a 7 year old microwave ge JVM3160DF3BB. the new unit has a similar model number, but omitting the "3". can you please tell me what the difference is? it is mounted over the stove - see photo please. thank you.

- Answer Looking at the second "3" in the s\n and according to the NOMENCLATURE about it leads me to believe that it may have to do something with the color scheme. Otherwise the new microwave is going to have updated hardware. Hope this helps. As for your photo, that wasn't shared. But I was able to mount on my own.

- Answer GE no longer makes at 36" over the range microwave. The largest they make is a 30" which is PSA9120SPSS. - Answer I’m a bit of a handy man, so when I replaced my old over the stove microwave, with a new one that had a fan built in, I just hooked it up to the existing venting. …it’s little bit awkward, but I did all the necessary retrofit. …so depending on your abilities you may call someone to install it. Recently I had one installed through Best Buy because it was for a rental I own.

- Answer Absolutely Not! Maytag is much better quality. This GE will be fine for about a year--until the warranty runs out. Then it will start blowing fuses in the door due to a design flaw. (Read other reviews on the blown fuses.) We finally threw it out--and went with a Whirlpool. (It was such a horrible experience that we vowed to never buy another GE appliance again.)

- Answer Not sure but I had a previous model and I had to drill new holes for the hanging bolts and for the power cord. Takes two people to lift into place.

QuestionI have GE JVM3160DF2WW. I was previously told that JVM3160DFWW was the updated version so that is what I ordered. However, the box says it is model JVM3160DFWW, but the model number listed on the microwave itself is JVM3160DF8WW. Are they the same?
