A:AnswerThank you for asking this great question! The 30” refers to the distance between the top of the microwave to the surface of the cooktop. In other words, there should be 30” between the bottom of your cabinet and the cooktop. For more information, please refer to page 8 of your microwave’s “Installation Instructions”. We hope this helps and if you need any additional assistance, please reach out to us! All the best – Matthew@GEA
A:AnswerMine does the same thing. The fan comes on immediately upon hitting start and the word “vent” appears in the display every single time you use the microwave to cook. I am not using the stove top so there is no heat rising from the stove. This vent seems to be separate from the high low vent fan which I am able to turn on and off by hitting the fan button. The “vent” comes on every time you cook and there’s no way to turn it off. My prior microwave (Exact same model) did not do this.
A:AnswerThank you for asking this great question! Unfortunately, you cannot disable the vent fan. The vent fan comes on automatically to protect the microwave, as well as the cooking surface below. We hope this helps; kind regards – Matthew@GEA

A:AnswerHi - Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in a new GE Appliances over-the-range microwave. We do not offer a model with the door hinge on the right side. After checking several of our models, a minimum of 1/2"-3/4" is required for proper door clearance. We are glad you checked with us. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA
A:AnswerHi - Thank you for your interest in a new GE Appliances over-the-range microwave. All of our models will fit in the same 30" wide opening. We do recommend using the new mounting bracket and hardware that will be packaged with the new unit to ensure the unit has been installed properly. Here are a couple of models that are comparable in capacity and features for your consideration - GE Appliances JVM6175DKWW and JVM7195DKWW. We hope you find this helpful. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA
A:AnswerI think it was approximately $140 and worth every penny! Technicians removed old unit, installed new one and cleaned up work area. I could never have gotten new unit from car to my home on my own!
A:AnswerHello there - we're happy to answer this question about the ductwork for this microwave! We can confirm that you are able to use round ducting with this unit, but you must keep a few things in mind: *If you're using a round duct, a rectangular-to-round transition adaptor must be used *Round ducts should be a minimum of six inches (can use seven) in diameter. -- If you need more information about the ductwork, please refer to the installation instructions here: https://content.syndigo.com/asset/7ddcef62-bca6-43f2-8656-ea942f6c0352/original.pdf -- We hope this was helpful. A:AnswerHi there - we're happy to provide a suggestion to replace your GE over-the-range microwave! This model (JVM3160RFSS) will be the most similar unit when it comes to features and size. While this newer model doesn't match the exact dimensions of your current one, the opening will still be able to fit this model. -- Only thing to keep in mind is that this newer model will not come with a full-width, removable rack like your current one and we do apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. -- We hope this information was helpful and we are incredibly grateful to have you as part of the GEA family. Have a great week. - Pablo@GEA
