You will hear a humming sounds during operation or change in the blower sound at power levels other than high. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy! - NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. A:AnswerHi 2858! We appreciate your question. We found that this is supposed to happen. Over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature to help protect the electronic components, and also helps the cooking area get rid of excess heat. The built-in thermostat automatically turns the vent fan on if the unit is too hot, and will not turn off until the microwave is cool again. This microwave is designed with a 13.5" glass turntable that can be easily removed for cleaning. We recommend leaving the turntable on for best cooking results, this model has Turntable On/Off control that allows it to be turned off for large dishes. It is not equipped with any shelf, glass tray, metal tray, or wire rack that may be found in an Advantium oven to use with different cooking modes.
