Q: QuestionMy existing over the range microwave has a standard plug which plugs into an outlet inside the cabinet above it. Does this model work the same way or does it need to be hard wired?

Q: QuestionWhirlpool gold 1.6 CF Microwave crapped out. Trying to replace it with similar. Does an over the range really need venting if put in cubby hole above the oven. Of course trim kit a problem. Looking at GE 1.6 and others. Counter top hard to find.

Q: QuestionI just replaced a Samsung MW with another from Samsung, only to learn afterwards that I cannot use the MW and the kitchen timer simultaneously. Does this GE model allow simultaneous operation (as did my old Samsung)?

Q: QuestionMy microwave vents outside the home and some air can be felt just below the microwave, is this normal? I would assume 100% of the air would go outside in place of pushing blew the microwave.

Q: QuestionMy clock is a bright white, not the green as in the online photo.....very difficult to see the time due to it being sooo bright. Also, we need a flashlight to use the keyboard due to it being so dark. Is this damaged, or did I get a lemon?? Thank you

Q: QuestionMy existing venting is through the top to the exterior. There is a rectangular to round adaptor in place. The diameter of the round duct is 4", not 6". Will this be ok?

• A:Answer Hi Robert- Microwaves are shipped from the factory to vent out the top (vertically), but can also be vented out the rear (horizontally) or converted to recirculating (non-vent). All over-the-range microwaves can be vented to the outside using an equivalent total of 140 feet of rigid 3 1/4" x 10" rectangular or rigid 6" round ducting (a rectangular to round transition adapter must be used). Round ducts should be a minimum of 6". Q: QuestionI have the GE model jvm1540sm2ss now that no longer operates (blows fuses like crazy!). Will the wall bracket and vent configuration (rear and side exterior wall) need to be changed for this particular model or can I use the same?

When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. You can use the same rear venting.
