  • QuestionI'm replacing a overrange MW measuring 29 7/8 wide, 15 15/32 depth, and 16 1/2 depth. What GE models will work?

    Asked by Dakotagal.

    • Answer Hi Dakotagal- Thanks for considering GE! We have great news. You can choose any model. Our 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. Check out our GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM7195SKS with a dark gray, easy clean enamel interior with steam clean option. • QuestionCan the JVM3160DF model be configured to vent outside instead of recirculating?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The microwave can be configured 3 ways. Vent out of the front through a charcoal filter, vent out the back and either up or straight out. You just have to remove two screws and rotate the fan (simple to do) to change.

  • QuestionJust curious if they sell some type of extender for the front of the microwave that can kind of scoop the smoke. I hate cooking on the front burners (closer to you) because the vent can't capture all the steam/smoke because of the way the unit is set in

    Asked by Joe908.

    • Answer Hi Joe908- Thanks for your purchase! We do not offer any options for the exhaust feature. The over-the-range microwave vent system should properly remove most heat, steam, and smoke from the cooktop. If boiling or simmering for long periods of time on the front burners, the vent will not always be capable of capturing all of the excess steam. It may be necessary to use the back burners in this case. Also, these models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. Mounting any higher can affect venting. Thanks for checking with us! SUEatGEA
