Q: QuestionI just purchased this microwave and it is extremely loud when operating. I've never heard a microwave make such a noise. Is this normal for this model or should i contact the mfg.?

• A:Answer Remove the exhaust hood, make sure the exhaust system isnt restricted. While mine was running it was producing almost 80dB! removing my exhaust reduced it almost to a whisper (Something in the exhaust hood was pinning the flap if using external venting). When the exhaust is restricted it runs very loud, if the exhaust is restricted the fan speed increases. Wish their manuals was mor.e descriptive than saying noise while running is normal

• A:Answer Yes it can. Instructions on which way the fan motor should be turned. I think it ships this way for outside venting. Very easy to turn fan motor. I switched it to recirculating, because I didn't have access above kitchen to put a vent duct to the outside.

• A:Answer I dont know what an endless time is, but you put in the time you want. It has express buttons so if I want 2 minutes on high I just hit 2, etc. But you can set to whatever power for however long you wish also.

If you would like to replace your JE1860GB built-in microwave, then we recommend model PEB7226DF. You will need to use the new trim kit but should not have to change your cabinet opening. Q: Questionwhy aren't full-sized templates available for OTR microwaves as replacements for lost/missing templates?Purchased GE PVM9179SF1SS microwave from Home Depot. They had allowed a customer to return it to store minus hardware bag and template for drilling cabinet. Have located 3 3" long screws to mount micro to cabinet but all I've been able to acquire from GE is vent template, and that's on a sheet of paper from a copier. I need the full-sized template to drill cabinet and support bracket

Q: QuestionWhere can I get an installation template?I am moving my microwave to a new location where it will have an outside exhaust - the vertical configuration. Google couldn't find a cabinet mounting template for me, and I have long since lost the one that came in the box. Where can i get one? • A:Answer There are usually just 2 screws for suspending the microwave from the upper cabinet, so measure carefully (triple measure if needs be to be sure). Measure the distance out from the back wall and the distance in from the sides. Same for the hole for passing the cord up through. If you are a little bit off on your holes , enlarge them in the direction needed to avoid cross threading the bolts in the case-mounted nuts. Possibly use large washers if you had to enlarge the hole(s) much , a.k.a. "fender washers". If you REALLY screw up the holes, you will have to add a small board inside the upper cabinet of a piece of sheet metal most of the way across with holes in the right place. You could also carefully measure the locations of the old holes relative to the back and cabinet sides at your old location in your particular case.

• A:Answer We have it over Samsung's slide in gas range NX58H9500W and they almost look they they're part of the same series of appliances. This is a pricey convection range with an elongatedd center burner that comes with a removable griddle top. So far I like it very much. It is all flush with the counter, clear back to the wall--no raised area with the controls. My kitchen is tiny--this provides more workable space on the cooktop and provides an illusion of a little more space in the kitchen. And I have a pretty tile border backspash which isn't covered by this range. Controls are on the front so it may not be appropriate for a household with little kids--although I think the electronic controls for the oven might include a lock?

Q: QuestionGE JVM7195 over range microwave instructions for ductwork.The template to install the JVM7195 over the range microwave (top ducted to outside) calls for a hole cutout that is 6 1/4 inches x 13 inches to accommodate the ductwork. Standard (rectangular) ductwork is always 3 1/4 x 10 inches. Hate to remove that much of the cabinet floor unless it's necessary. Anyone have an idea why they advise a cut-out that large? I called GE and they said they aren't equipped to answer install questions.

• A:Answer NathanE must think he is clever. He must not realize that even cooking with a pan that has a non stick coating can be dangerous if you have bird in your home. GE’s website has more information about the chemicals that are used in their products. Hope that helps!
