A:AnswerHi Ted, thanks for reaching out! This product requires a three-prong grounded outlet. Product rating is 120 volts AC, 60 Hertz, 15 amps, and 1.70 kilowatts. This product must be connected to a supply circuit of the proper voltage and frequency. Wire size must conform to the requirements of the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code for this kilowatt rating. The power supply cord and plug should be brought to a separate 15 to 20 ampere branch circuit single grounded outlet. The outlet box should be located in the cabinet above the microwave oven and away from any potential microwave ducting. The outlet box and supply circuit should be installed by a qualified electrician and conform to the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael

A:AnswerHello Angel,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your over the range microwave. We are sorry to hear you are experiencing a loud sound and know this must be frustrating. A fan where the internal components are located will run continuously while the microwave is in operation to constantly circulate the air and cool the working parts. It is normal for the internal fan for the electronics to continue to run for a few seconds after the microwave cycle is complete, even if the door is opened. This fan does not circulate air in the cavity. That being said, if it sounds like the exhaust fan is hitting something this is not a normal sound that we would expect from our microwaves. We would suggest scheduling a service appointment. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737, Mon-Fri 7 am – 10 pm ET, Sat-Sun 8 am – 6 pm ET or schedule online anytime at: http://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
Please feel free to reach out to us over email or social media if you have any further questions.
Best wishes - Avery
