A:AnswerJVM3160DFWW - I just bought this model and the exhaust can be either top or rear exit. I replaced a 10 year old Frigidaire unit and the rear exit exhaust matched up without issues. This model did come setup for top exit from the factory, so you have to remove and rotate the exhaust motor and remove 2 metal tabs to accommodate for a rear exit exhaust setup. See Pic

A:AnswerHello Bobbie - Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your microwave replacement. We appreciate your loyalty and we happy to help! When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. The mounting brackets are not the same. We are glad you checked. Olga

A:AnswerHi Jack,
Most range or cooktop models do not require a ventilation system or have a CFM requirement; however, we recommend checking the local residential codes in your area to see if one is required. All current OTR (over-the-range microwaves), including convection, Advantium ovens, vent hoods, and telescopic downdraft vents can be installed over gas cooking products with combined surface burner BTU rating of approximately 65,000 BTUs or less. As long as the 66" minimum clearance from the floor to the top of the microwave is followed there will be no performance or warranty problem. We hope that this helped! Thank you so much for your question. -Michael

A:AnswerWe replaced a Kenmore Elite that we purchased in June 2011 with this model. It is only about half an inch taller than the Kenmore. The mounting holes for the upper cabinet will not be the same so you'll be drilling more holes. Be careful mounting the paper template under the upper cabinet because the holes have to be spot on or you won't be able to mount it properly. Also, the rear bracket has different hook and hole positions so you won't be able to use the Kenmore bracket.
A:AnswerHello Pat. Yes, the new stainless steel model JVM3160RFSS is a great replacement for your existing microwave. It will work in your current space. Thank you your interest. Olga
