A:AnswerThank you for checking. Our appliances can be repaired and an authorized service technician can provide you what is needed to make the repair or if would be more cost effective to replace. Hope this helps. The new model will be JVM6175SKSS, JVM9179SKSS or JVM6172SKSS. You will need to use the new mounting bracket for the new model microwave but will fit in the same space. Hope this helps Geoff@GEA
A:AnswerGlad to asked us the question as the model that was suggested will not work. Please look at the following model PEM31DFWW. If you have your present model on the countertop then you will have no issues. If you have your current model hanging under a cabinet then this will work. Should you have your present model built into a cabinet using an optional built-in trim kit then you will need a new trim kit in addition to the microwave as the old trim kit is not compatible with new model. Hope this helps. Geoff@GEA
A:AnswerHi there - thanks for asking! The handle adds approximately 2 1/4 inches to the overall depth, making the total depth (including handle) approximately 17.8 inches. We hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions - we're glad to assist. Be well, Kelsey@GEA
A:AnswerHi there, we truly appreciate your loyalty to GE Appliances and we're happy to help. This model (JVM6175EKES) should work as a great replacement. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. We just suggest using the mounting bracket of your new microwave. We hope this information is found useful to you and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
A:AnswerHi there, we truly appreciate your interest in one of our microwaves. After doing some digging, we're sorry to say that the dimensions of all of our over-the-range models from the wall to the center line of the mounting hole in the upper cabinet is 10 3/8". We apologize if this information comes at an inconvenience to you and we're wishing you the best. Thanks for reaching out. - Guy@GEA
A:AnswerHello - We're very sorry to hear your microwave handle broke after only 18 months. We can understand your frustration and certainly want to apologize for your inconvenience. A:AnswerHi, Thanks for asking great questions! We're more than happy to help. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model and is not interchangeable. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used.
We're very disappointed to hear your microwave isn't working and suggest resetting the electronics by disconnecting power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds. If this doesn't help, we suggest calling GE Service at 1-800-432-2737 or scheduling an appointment online at: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
We hope you find this helpful. Thanks! - Sharon@GEA
A:AnswerHello- We appreciate you checking with us. This is an over the range model that can't be built into or mounted in a cabinet. This model is designed to go over a free-standing or slide in range. ~According to Underwriters Laboratories (UL), which approves appliance installations, you cannot use an over-the-range microwave on the counter or in a shelf. Besides not being approved for this installation, these microwaves don't have feet and are also often slanted (not level) on the bottom. Additionally, if the surface lights or vent fan were to be turned on accidentally, it could cause damage to the shelf or microwave. We recommend looking at our models that offer an under cabinet hanging kit. Take a look at the following model: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ge-1-5-cu-ft-mid-size-microwave-stainless-steel/5527522.p?skuId=5527522 We apologize for your inconvenience and hope this is helpful. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We are happy to help! Joyce@GEA
A:AnswerHello- We are sorry to hear you are having this issue. We can certainly understand your frustration and are happy to help! Please try resetting the electronics by unplugging the unit or flipping the breaker off to it for at least 5 minutes. Then restore power and set your clock and verify the vent is turned off. If you still see the word vent or if the vent is continuing to run. We recommend taking advantage of your warranty and reaching out to GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737. Thank you! Joyce@GEA

A:AnswerHi there, we're sorry to hear your popcorn burned. We know what a bummer this can be and how worrisome this is so we're happy to help. The Sensor Features detect the increasing humidity released during cooking. The oven automatically adjusts the cooking time to various types and amounts of food. Based on the information provided, you may have been using Sensor Cooking and you may also just so happen to have to replace your charcoal filter (Filter signal). The light will illuminate after approximately 6 months to alert you to replace the charcoal filter (if used) and
clean/replace the grease filters. You can reset this by pushing and holding the Reset Filter Button for 3 seconds. Also, the Popcorn button section of the owner's manual on page 14 states the following: Follow package instructions, using Cook Time if the package is less than 2.0 ounces or larger than 3.5 ounces. We just finally suggest making sure your popcorn was in that weight range. Otherwise, this could've been a cause of the burn. We hope this helps and we're wishing you the very best! - Guy@GEA
A:AnswerHello, thank you for your question. When the model is manufactured, these extra letters/numbers are placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance. While shopping online, you will primarily see model numbers listed without these identifiers - in this case, JVM6175EKES. When you purchase and receive your unit, the numeric identifier will be listed in the model number on the rating plate. If you are looking for a specific version of an appliance, you would need to speak to your local Best Buy to see if they are able to provide you with stock information. Rest assured, though, any JVM6175EKES microwave will be functionally identical to JVM6175EK5ES. We hope this helps! -Chris@GEA
A:AnswerHello there,
