A:AnswerI am trying to help a friend replace a "well-used" and no longer working GE microwave. The store (purposely unnamed) salesman was very helpful and we found a suitable GE replacement for the old one. We were advised that the installer would require a minimum 30 inch clearance above the stove surface. It looks like there is exactly 29.75 inch clearance. The old unit was installed by a handyman and friend, since deceased, so my friend will need to use/hire someone to install the new unit. Please know, I measured multiple times and continue to get the same answer... need another 0.25" or 1/4". Is this really a problem? Thanks, Ed
