“My GE Profile micro wave is 36 in. wide.,including a 6in fill the space plate. It needs to be replaced and the current models are only 30 in. wide. What can I do? Also if the charcoal filter is not replaced when needed, can that shut down the machine.”

When replacing a 36" over-the-range microwave, you will also need to purchase a 36" filler kit to allow it to be installed in a 36" cut-out opening. If available, the 36" filler kit will be listed in the product specifications. Model JVM7195SKSS is compatible with Optional 36" Filler Panel Kit JX36BSS (sold separately). The charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12 months, depending on usage). The microwave generally does not shut down when dirty, however it will not effectively remove smoke and odors. We certainly appreciate your loyalty!
