To check the power level, press Cook Time and enter 1 minute and then press power level and select 10 and press start. - Answer You will need a 1/2" minimum distance from the door hinge side to an adjacent wall to open the door properly. -Vikki@GEAppliances

- Answer When replacing an Over-the-Range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts and exhaust adapter should also be used. -Don@GEAppliances

- Answer We no longer manufacture 36-inch microwaves but some of our 30-inch models offer an optional filler panel. This model's side filler panel kit is JX36BSS. You can view how it will look on our geappliances.com website.

QuestionIt looks like this has a handle on it. Is there one with a push button instead? My GE microwave handle broke off at the top and we glued it. Now the bottom part broke in pieces so I don't like handles anymore.

- Answer All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our current 30" over-the-range microwave models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range microwave model. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts and exhaust adapter should also be used.

- Answer This lovely microwave measures 16 5/16 H x 29 7/8 W x 15 9/16 D and is designed to fit in a 30" wide opening. The cabinet above the microwave should be no more than 13" deep. If the upper cabinet is deeper than 13" a bump out kit (JX15BUMPBB) will be needed. We recommend using the mounting hardware and bracket that will be packaged with the new model.

- Answer Put a glass dish or a measuring cup full of water in the microwave for about six or eight minutes till it boils. That will give you a steamed atmosphere inside the microwave.

QuestionI replaced a GE Spacemaker (PVM2070SM-4SS with this model. Like the Spacemaker, it vents from the top, to the outside. When the wind blows, there is a rattling sound, and also outside air comes into the house from the top grill of the unit. How to fix?

- Answer The good news is all of our over-the-range microwaves will fit in a 30" wide opening. We offer several different models with varying features to suit your needs. The JVM7195SKSS is a fine model offering wonderful cooking features. The new model can be vented to the outside or can be converted to vent internally (recirculating) using the charcoal filter we include with the unit. We do recommend you use the new mounting bracket and hardware that will be packaged with the new microwave.
