Q: Does this microwave have to be vented out of the home?
A: Hello Donnajoe - We appreciate your interest in the over-the-range microwave JVM7195SKSS and we are happy to help! This model comes from the factory set for outside venting, however, it has a non-vented installation option; it can be converted to recirculating venting. Some microwaves had the marketing name XL1800 printed on the control panel which indicated the cavity size (1.8 cubic feet- XL1800: JVM1840, JVM1841, JVM1842, JVM1850, JVM1851, JVM1860, JVM1861, JVM1870, JVM1871). All GE 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for your existing 30" over-the-range XL 1800 model. Comparable models are GE Profile™ 2.1 Cu. Ft. Q: How do I change the power level on GE overthe range microwave Model #JvM7195skss
A: First press “cook time” and enter how many minutes and seconds you’d like to cook. Then press “power level” and press 1 for 10% power and so on up to 9 for 90% power. It will display “PL1” do 10% for instance. Once you see that just press the Start/Pause button.
A: The light hangs only about 1/2” lower than the rest of the microwave, so for us, it is not an issue. See attached photos.

Great microwave

Great microwave very happy
The unit was exactly as described. Looks and works great very happy I got it. I’ve always had good luck with the GE appliances is the reason I chose this one it’s got a lot of great features and has been very simple to use.
