A:AnswerHello Mills,
Thank you so much for reaching out. Excellent question. CFM (cubic feet per minute) is a unit of measurement of the exchange of air from one area to another. The higher the CFM, the more air can be moved from one area to another. If you vent internally, then there is no need to use CFM since air is being recirculated. This model has a top CFM of 400 and has four different speeds. We hope this was helpful. Best wishes. Mike@GEA
A:AnswerProbably the microwave is not brushed nickel but is stainless steel. The stainless is a thin sheet of metal capping a plastic panel beneath. The stainless steel is not shiny therefore appears like brushed nickel.I hope the issue you described has been fixed. I previously had the same model number that was about 5 years old and had the same issue with the microwave not shutting off. The problem is not he door switch as told to me by a professional repair facility and that if used the microwave may catch fire.
I have replaced the microwave with a new one of the same model. Hope this issue does not happen again . YTo me 5 years is a short life for a microwave.
A:AnswerHi Zonlaw, thanks for your question! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy! - NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. The new model that you've chosen will make for a fine replacement to your old unit. We hope that this helps! All the best. -Michael
A:AnswerHi Katie, thanks so much for your question! The handle on this microwave is made from plastic. We hope that this is helpful! Stay safe. -Michael
A:AnswerHello, thank you for reaching out to us. If the interior light needs to be replaced, follow these instructions:
1. Unplug the microwave oven.
2. Remove or open the vent grille or vent cover. Instructions are in the "To Remove the Charcoal Filter" section of your Owner's Manual.
3. Once the vent is removed or opened, remove the lamp compartment cover by removing the screw that holds the cover in place. If the cover is too difficult to access, a service technician will be required.
4. If you have a charcoal filter, remove it so that you can see the access area.
On some models, the access area is small and it can be difficult to get to the light cover.
5. Remove the bulb
Incandescent lamps: Remove by pushing inward gently and turning counter-clockwise.
Halogen lamps: Gently pull straight out
6. Replace the old bulb with the same wattage bulb.
7. Replace the compartment cover and vent grille.
8. Plug in the microwave.
However, if the cooktop/nite light needs to be replaced, follow these instructions:
1. First disconnect the power at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel, or pull the plug.
2. Remove the screw from the side of the light compartment cover and lower the cover until it stops. 3. Be sure the bulb is cool before removing. Break the adhesive seal by gently unscrewing the bulb. 4. Screw in the new bulb, then raise the light cover and replace the screw. Connect electrical power to the oven.
We hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach back out to us. HC
A:AnswerHello joanne, Thank you for reaching out. The two models you provided are in fact the same model. The only difference is an extra letter. When the model is manufactured, these extra letters/numbers are placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance. Hope this helps! Best wishes -Mike

A:AnswerAs long as the width is 30". You may have to change the mounting holes. These all seem to have different wall plates and support holes in the overhead cabinet.
I had to redo my mounts, but with the included template, it took no time at all.

A:AnswerHi there, Cookie - Great question! The interior light in your over-the-range microwave is not consumer replaceable due to its location in the microwave. The lamp will need to be replaced by a service technician. Thanks for checking! -Mikayla
A:AnswerHi Beau: We also have a tile back splash but I was replacing an existing microwave. The installation instructions should give you direction on this as to what size space you need to allow for but there should be some allowance for the depth. The width of the hole is less forgiving because there is a minimum amount of space required but you can check the install instructions to see what these are: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/JVM7195SKSS/install
My other advice is to have a good masonry bit, wood bit and a stud finder on hand. Even though I was just replacing another GE microwave, the mounting bracket for the new one was different and required that I drilled new holes through the tile. The first bit I used was worn and took forever on the first two holes and then I found my better one and it zipped right through. Overall, my installation went pretty smoothly and I had mine installed inside of any hour. Hope this helps and good luck.

A:AnswerAsk your vendor. You can purchase the GE 36 in. Over the Range Microwave Accessory Filler Kit in the finish to match your microwave. It is basically a panel on each side, 3" each side. When it's installed, it looks like a single unit.
A:AnswerHi Donna - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE Microwave Model # JVM7195EKES. We are sorry to hear of the error when trying to heat water for your tea. This is frustrating, we know. The Beverage function on this model is sensor-controlled. The microwave will detect the serving size and adjust the heating time accordingly. To use the Beverage feature, simply press the Beverage pad one time (oven starts immediately). SENSOR ERROR appears on the display if the door is opened before steam is detected. Do not open door until steam is sensed and time is shown counting down on the display. Also, Sensor Reheat is for single servings of recommended foods, 4-16 oz. of any beverage. Use Cook Time option for other amounts. Here's the link to the Use and Care Guide: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-7000093.pdf - If using as directed in the manual, try a reset by turning off power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so. A technician may be required for an accurate diagnosis. To schedule service online visit: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm - We hope this is helpful. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com! Sue

A:AnswerHi Jim- Thanks for reaching out to us! We are sorry to hear your 36" GE microwave needs replacing and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. When replacing a 36" over-the-range microwave, you will also need to purchase a 36" filler kit to allow it to be installed in a 36" cut-out opening. If available, the 36" filler kit will be listed in the product specifications. Model JVM7195SKSS is compatible with Optional 36" Filler Panel Kit JX36BSS (sold separately). We suggest viewing page 2 of the Quick Specs document here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=JVM7195SK_EK_C3.pdf - Also, the charcoal filter helps remove smoke and odors. The charcoal filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12
months, depending on usage). The microwave generally does not shut down when dirty, however it will not effectively remove smoke and odors. We certainly appreciate your loyalty! If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com! Sue
