We're glad to answer your question. It is recommended to have at minimum 30" from the top of the stove to the bottom of the cabinet. The microwave have a height of 16 5/6". If you subtract the 30 from the 16 5/6, then at minimum the distance from the bottom of the microwave to the stove will be 13 1/6". Depending on your setup it could be different. We hope this helps. A:AnswerHi - We have wonderful news. All of our over-the-range style microwaves fit in a 30" wide opening. We do recommend using the installation hardware and mounting bracket that is included with the new model. Your existing model is a 2.1 cubic foot capacity with sensor cooking functions. We would recommend taking a look at the PVM9215SKSS or the JVM7195SKSS to have similar capacity and sensor cooking functionality. Please reach out to us again if you have additional questions.
