Hi Chelle - Thanks for reaching out to us! The microwave cooking wattage is 1000. If you have multiple appliances on the same circuit, this could affect the cooking wattage. The microwave requires a 120 volt individual, properly grounded branch circuit with a 3 prong grounding type receptacle, protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. Over-the-range models should be on a dedicated circuit. The water must be 59-75 degrees Fahrenheit (15-24 degrees Celsius). Heat the water for exactly 2 minutes 30 seconds on High (this is the default setting). A temperature rise in the range of 28-40 degrees Fahrenheit (15-22 degrees Celsius) indicates that the oven is cooking properly.
