Q: QuestionThe sensor light for the charcoal filter in the hood came on. I removed the filter and washed it. I then reinstalled back into the microwave. How do I shut off the red light for the charcoal filter?

• A:Answer Hi - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM7195SKSS. We are happy to provide assistance with the filters. Press the Reset Filter pad on the control panel for 3 seconds to reset the filter light. This model is equipped with optional charcoal filter WB06X10807. If the model is not vented to the outside, the air will be recirculated through this disposable charcoal filter that helps remove smoke and odors. If this model is vented outdoors, the charcoal filter is not necessary. Note: The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned. It must be replaced when it is noticeably dirty or discolored (usually after 6 to 12 months, depending on usage). This model also has reusable metal grease filters underneath. The vent filters should be cleaned once a month, or as needed. There is not a filter light for these grease filters. Q: QuestionDoes the over the range microwave JVM7195BLTS have sensor cooking? The black, white, slate and stainless from the same JVM7195 indicate yes. Is this a misprint?

When the model is manufactured, the extra number (3) is placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. All GE over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature to help protect the electronic components, and also helps the cooking area get rid of excess heat. The built-in thermostat automatically turns the vent fan on if the unit is too hot (temperature around the control panel is above 150 degrees F) and will not turn off until the microwave is cool again. You will not be able to turn the vent fan off manually during this time. The fan will shut off when the control surface is less than 150 degrees F.
