Hi Shannon - Thanks for viewing GE Model JVM7195SKSS. The cooktop lighting is halogen. We can only recommend replacing the bulbs with the type, voltage and wattage included with the microwave since it has been designed for this type. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
