When the model is manufactured, the extra number is placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card only. This number is used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, this is used as an identifier for the specific microwave. The earlier revision 2, 3, 4 is what you need to look for (SK2SS, SK3SS, SK4SS) as they are the "real" GE. See if Best Buy can help, or call GE and say that you were sent the wrong model.
