“We just had this vent cover installed in our new condo. We were surprised to see the diagonal slots in the cover and disappointed as they take away from a nice clean look. Is there a reason for these slots? Can you get it without them?”

Hi Chuck - The hoods for these duct covers can be installed in the external venting mode or recirculation mode. The purpose of the vent cutouts located on side of duct cover is designed for the recirculation installations. Thanks for sharing your comments regarding the design with us and for choosing GE.
