A: Hi Alyo - Model JXDC72SS is designed to work with hood models 36" JVW5361SJSS and 30" JVW5301SJSS. Both duct covers in the JXDC72 are the same height. Dimensions of the high ceiling upper and lower duct covers are each: ◦Height - 19-11/16"; ◦Width - 8-1/4" (upper) 8-3/16" (lower); ◦Depth - 7-1/16" (upper) 7" (lower). Q: We just had this vent cover installed in our new condo. We were surprised to see the diagonal slots in the cover and disappointed as they take away from a nice clean look. Is there a reason for these slots? Can you get it without them?

A: Hi Chuck - The hoods for these duct covers can be installed in the external venting mode or recirculation mode. The purpose of the vent cutouts located on side of duct cover is designed for the recirculation installations. Thanks for sharing your comments regarding the design with us and for choosing GE. Q: Bought the 10 ft. GE duct cover kit from Lowes. All they shipped me was the two piece cover. Installation instructions show a bracket and screws are also needed for each piece. How do I get those? Home Depot lists the brackets as part of the package.

Q: Does the extension for a ten foot ceiling add a piece that creates a seam, or does it replace the entire duct cover with one continuous piece?

Dimensions of the high ceiling upper and lower duct covers are each: Height - 19-11/16", Width - 8-1/4" (upper) 8-3/16" (lower), Depth - 7-1/16" (upper) 7" (lower). Q: Do I need to buy this if i have a 9 foot ceiling in my kitchen or does the extension for this unit that is already included work for a 9 foot ceiling???

The duct covers can be adjusted for ceilings between 7’ 3 1/4” and 9’ depending on the distance between the bottom of the hood and the cooktop.
