“Can this come in pieces to be assembled if it does not fit though the basement door stairway?”

• Unfortunately, no. The top door might be removable but that likely wouldn't solve your problem. Perhaps an upright freezer is the best answer, albeit you should carefully check the turning radius at the top and bottom of the staircase.
