Additional air conditioning would be excessive. This unit is designed for garage use. Insulating the garage itself should be adequate.

This freezer is a garage ready model which has been tested in extreme outside temperatures to perform in temperatures ranging between 0°F and 110°F. This makes it a great option for more extreme climates! We do not recommend installing the freezer in a location where the temperature will go below 0°F or above 110°F, because it will not maintain proper temperatures. Page 10 of the freezer's Use and Care Manual also indicates that the freezer should be located for in a dry, well-ventilated room. Depending on how insulated your garage is, if it can consistently maintain a temperature within this range, the freezer will still be able to properly perform. If this is not possible, you may want to consider installing an air conditioner to help with this. We hope that this helps to clarify! Please feel free to reach back out to us if you have any additional questions. -Eliza@GEA
