I don't think the heating element is used for drying, just heating the water.

With this drying system design, condensation will form on cooler surfaces in a warm humid environment. At the end of a cycle, while the dish load is still hot, the stainless steel tub walls are already cooling down and pulling condensation to form on the tub walls instead of the dishes. This provides natural air drying of the dish load. The use of a rinse agent ensures spot and film protection for dishes and assists the drying process. Thanks for choosing GE! -Emelea
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It heats the water very hot on boost and has sterilize mode too. This in combination with the jet dry you add just vaporizes any water left when you open the door when it's done.
