Q: Question1. Does this model have the delayed start feature? AND 2. The settings/program buttons appear to be built into the top of the door, are they illuminated so can see wash details once the door is closed looking at the machine?

• A:Answer Hi Jjjeff - This dishwasher has a Delay Start 1-12 Hour option. Also, this model has hidden controls (controls located on top of door) and not visible when the door is closed. The cycle must be selected with the door in the open position. The cycle will not start until the Start pad is pushed and the door is closed within 4 seconds. To interrupt or pause a cycle, slowly open the door. Opening the door will cause the wash cycle to pause. The dishwasher will beep every minute to remind you to close the door. To restart or resume the cycle, press Start, and close the door within 4 seconds. An audible End-of-Cycle Signal lets you know when the cycle is complete. Thanks for your interest! Sue

Q: QuestionMy portable GE 18 inch dishwasher came with a slight bend in the hose. It works fine, but pushing it back in, when it get to the kink/bend it becomes so hard to push it back in. Has anyone else had this problem and how to fix it?

• A:Answer Yes I have this problem. I push really hard and hope by the time it tears, I will be able to replace the unit with a built in. This was in several reviews, so maybe GE will send replacement hoses when they wear out but I doubt it, as it likely how the unit stores the hoses that is doing it and they aren’t going to fix that for us.

• A:Answer It is very quiet. The only thing you hear is the water draining in the sink. My biggest problem is that it is very difficult to get the hoses in and out of the back.

Q: QuestionAre you able to put something heavy on top of the dishwasher - like an over counter water dispenser? I don’t need to move the dishwasher around.

• A:Answer Hi Pj - Thanks for considering GE Model # GPT145SSLSS! The decorative laminate wood top is intended to be a light-duty working or storage surface when the dishwasher is not in use. Light weight items, such as paper, are completely acceptable to leave on top of the unit when it is not in operation. While in operation, we suggest removing items from the this top since they are subjected to the vibrations of the dishwasher’s function and may be prone to moving / falling off the dishwasher. Q: QuestionWhat are dish racks made of? Are they rust-proof? My current non-GE dishwasher uses vinyl-covered steel that rusts after a few years.

If the nylon coating is cut or removed in some fashion, the metal underneath is exposed to the moist environment inside the dishwasher and consequently can begin to rust. Q: QuestionHi, I'm 5 feet tall. Is this machine light enough for me to put it on its side to install the wheels? Is it easy to install.....I don't have much experience mechanically. Thanks.

You may want to seek help with installation of the casters since it must be placed onto its side to avoid back or other injury. An aerator adapter is supplied with each portable dishwasher. The hoses are easy to install. Remove the existing strainer or aerator and screw on the aerator adapter. It fits most standard faucet spouts. An Aerator Faucet Adapter adapts your kitchen faucet to accept the dishwasher hose connection and reduces splashing in the sink when dishwasher is not hooked-up. The Unicouple slips onto the aerator adapter and locks into place to supply hot water to the dishwasher through the top hose. Used water drains through the lower hose and out the bottom of the unicouple into the sink. The Unicouple faucet adapter provides simple, quick connect and disconnect of hot water to the dishwasher. A pressure-release valve lets you disconnect hose from faucet without splashing. Q: QuestionDoes this model support a heated dry option? I notice that it was already mentioned that the heating element is there, but oddly there are models that will only use it for heating the water and will not utilize it for drying for whatever reason...
