Q: QuestionWe have an old, prewar, plumbing system. Would this run a chance of overloading or bursting the pipes?
Asked by PuddinPops.
- A:Answer Hi - Thank you for your interest in a new GE portable dishwasher. While we have no way of knowing if your pre-war plumbing is suitable for use with a dishwasher, we can provide some information you may find helpful. This model attaches to your sink faucet using a unicouple connector. One hose on the unicouple is what brings the water in from your plumbing to provide the water needed to wash your dishes. The incoming water would need to be a minimum of 120 degrees F. to provide proper wash performance. Depending on the cycle selected, the dishwasher uses between 4.3 - 6 gallons of water per wash cycle. The other hose on the unicouple is what drains the water at the end of the cycle into your sink drain. Hopefully, the information provided today will help you decide if a dishwasher is right for you. All our best! Vikki@GEA

Asked by HeightNoCasters.

Q: QuestionHow do you get dishes dry on this dishwasher
Asked by MDH.
- A:Answer You could either crack the door open. I just waited a few minutes to the steam comes out. The dishes will be hot but mostly dry if you wanted to try out faster. Just pulled away lower rack out all the way. Open the door all the way and it drives census a few minutes the dishes are. Really pretty dry and then sometimes because you have water collecting and depression, the cups and stuff but I don't have any problems with trying. Even the sober wear just a few seconds, it's dry.

Q: QuestionIs water from the faucet able to be diverted away from the dishwasher when the dishwasher is not running?
Asked by Tim.
- A:Answer If your dishwasher is connected to the sink floss at you can get around this problem. You can just use the spray hose at the sank. Actually, I wouldn't do this. Pick a shower, always endanger of breaking. I'm having a week on the hose to the spray attachment. If you're not using the dishwasher, turn the water off and disconnect it. There's a possibility you could get a really bad water leak if you don't have the time or it's just a few minutes. There's a red button on the side of the connector to the flashlight. You can depress it and get water that way. But I wouldn't leave the dishwasher connected to the faucet for any length of time. Because you always face a possibility of some plumbing somewhere in this process. Don't be water all over your floor.

Q: QuestionCan the Piranha food grinder be used like a food disposal? For example, if I have scraps of vegetable peels while cooking, can I throw them into the dishwasher among with the dishes?
Asked by Bryan.
- A:Answer If you like scraping big chunks of garbage out of the bottom of your filter in the dishwasher, go ahead and throw those peels in there. But the Pranav garbage disposal GE talks about really supposed to take care of a small scraps of food. Because restick to the food has seawater is recycled over and over again in the dishwasher. Speak garbage disposal in the dishwasher. It's supposed to take care of very small particles and make them so small that they just get flushed out and go out to drain and leave your dishes clean. It's not in any way a traditional garbage disposal where you can throw it. Just big chunks of stuff into the pipe and go out to this. Here you will just end up clogging up your filter and having to clean up the filter in the dishwasher. Hi myself just scrape big chunks into the garbage. I want to dishwasher do the hard stuff. Like the grease in the olyves, tiny things that you don't wanna spend a lot of time scrubbing off.

Q: QuestionWhere does the waste water goes? Or is there a hose for it?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It drains into your sink via a hose. Small bits of food also drain into your sink, so it's best to have a garbage disposal or a strainer in the drain.
