    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: Is this a self filtering unit or one that need the filters manually replaced? If they need to be replaced by me, how often must they be replaced considering regular, daily use? and how much do the filters cost?

A: Hello Veei! This has a removable filter. So, the filter would need to be taken out and cleaned by you. The triple filter system consists of 2 parts, an upper filter assembly and a lower filter. The upper filter assembly keeps oversized items and foreign objects, along with very fine food particles, out of the pump. The lower filter keeps food from being recirculated onto your dishware. The filters may need to be cleaned when:Visible objects or soils are on the Upper Filter Assembly. There is degradation in cleaning performance (that is, soils still present on dishes). Dishes feel gritty to the touch. It is very easy to remove and maintain the filters. There is a chart in the Use and Care Guide for recommended Cleaning on page 7.

Q: Is it possible to build this model in at some point using a conversion kit? Thanks!

A: Hello Hawk! There is a converter kit. It is W10322576. We hope this helps.

Q: How long do you run the water for and how do you know when it’s going to start drying?

A: The water stays on the entire time (or you risk burning out the motor or delaying the cycle due to insufficient water), but only draws water when it needs it during the cycle. A typical wash cycle is 90 mins. Of that time, it usually draws water three times (prewash, wash, rinse). Depending on your water pressure and if you have the faucet on all the way, each probably take 90 seconds to 3 mins to draw water. (I’m on the 90 second side but I have really strong water pressure; my guess is that the average is closer to 2 mins). The dry cycle is at the end of the wash and a light flips on when it does to let you know. This is at the end of the wash cycle and lasts aprox 20 mins. (You do need to use a drying agent like Finish or Cascade Power Dry, but a bottle is $6-8 and lasts 2-3 months. Or if single like me - 6 months because I don’t need to run the washer as often.). Like I said, the “normal” wash cycle is 90 mins (and then it flips to dry). There is a 1 hour cycle and then a heavy wash/high temp cycle that is much longer (100-120 mins) but good for baked on/tough stuff. Overall, none of this is more or less than any dishwasher I ever had in any other place I’ve lived. The quality is very much the same as an in-counter unit, just it has wheels and a counter top. It is pretty quiet and very easy to use and connect once the adapter is installed in the faucet. I washed dishes by hand in my 1930s-style apartment for 7 years. This is honestly a game changer for me. My counters/sink are less cluttered, things are way more clean, and I got a new island/counter space in my galley kitchen!

Q: Dishwasher both sides the outer cabinet bulges out. it's not even going down you can see the inner parts? At the top when the door is open it's 24" across. At the bottom where the hinges are when the door is open it's 24 1/4 across. Door closes harder.

A: pachico41, please give us a call so we can look into any concerns you have with the Dishwasher 1-866-698-2538 Hour of Operation: Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST

Q: Are the electric plug and water hose and Water hose connections included with the dishwasher purchase?

A: Yes, the plug and water hose are built in and pull out from the back of dishwasher. (BB sold me an install kit which was for built in dishwashers, so ended up returning this unnecessary item. )

Q: How long the water hose is?

A: Not sure of the exact length. But plan on the dishwasher being right up against your sink. You maybe have 3 extra feet of hose once it's connected.

    Don’t buy a portable dishwasher!

No problem with Best Buy, my problem is that we can’t find an adapter to connect it to our faucet. We had just installed a new faucet for $300.00. It’s a pull down faucet sprayer type.We have tried Lowes, Home Depot, and several plumbing supply stores. We have a $900 dishwasher we aren’t able to use. The adapter it came with is for the old style faucet’s with knobs on each side. I wish we had been told it wouldn’t work with the pull down faucets.

Good dishwasher for kitchens without a dishwasher

We have an old house. over 100 years old. Our kitchen doesn't have a place for a built-in dishwasher, and I'm not willing to remodel just to make room for one (neither is my wife, for that matter). When we bought the house 22 years ago, we simply purchased a portable dishwasher and were happy. Almost a year ago now, that old one died. This dishwasher is much quieter than that old one, but it's also a lot slower. Our last one took about an hour to run the full cycle from start of the washing to end of the drying. This one take an hour to wash and another hour to dry, and that's on the "fast wash" setting! It does a good job, but good grief! This is why I only give it 4 out of 5 stars. There really aren't many portable dishwashers made any more (or there weren't when we bought this). Most of what we saw were tiny little countertop units that wouldn't hold more than a single meal's worth of dishes, and wouldn't fit a large mixing bowl. This was the only option we found in over a week of looking. Thank goodness it works well! Unfortunately, It is expensive, but they've got you over a barrel if you need it.

    Nice portable dishwasher

Does a good job cleaning and I love the butcher block top. Comes with a faucet adapter, so I didn't have to buy one because it fit my faucet. I was prepared to spend a day or two hunting hardware stores. Minor annoyance is that the buttons don't light up until pressed. Scared me when I first plugged it in and saw no signs of life. The buttons do light once pressed and the clean light comes on when it's done. The Normal cycle takes approx. 2 hours, but it has a 1-hour cycle mode that I have not tried. The top rack is roomy, small plates fit in it, and the bottom rack (large plates and pots and pans) has so far accomodated everything I've tried to wash in it. This dishwasher is a workhorse, and I hope it remains so for years to come.
