This countertop microwave needs adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. Countertop Models: 3" of clearance on both sides and the top 1" clearance in the rear. These microwaves are intended for countertop use only. We do not recommend installing them in tight spaces, like a cabinet. See the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21668 - If you do not have adequate clearance, you can view our Built-in Microwave at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-category/microwave-ovens?TYPE=Built-In - Keep in touch!
