A:AnswerHi Terrifrmtx - Thanks for considering GE Model GDF630PSMSS! This model has Automatic HotStart and will preheat the water. Water coming into the dishwasher may be as low as 95 degrees F and this feature will help raise the temperature to the required 120 degrees F. It actually heats the tub, spray arms, dishes, (prior to the main wash cycle) allowing proper cleaning. Once selected, approximately 1-1/2 gallons of water enters the tub, circulates in the tub for 5 minutes and then drains. This helps to purge cold water that may be in the line. Then another 1-1/2 gallons of water enters the tub and circulates for approximately 15 minutes and then drains. The heating element is on during this period, heating up the water and the tub. After this option is run, the dishwasher will automatically go into the cycle that has been selected. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerIt’s narrow .... but there’s the top rack for knives, spatulas, brushes. You may need to adjust the other racks up or down to make room for pans

A:AnswerHi JoJo - We have great news! Model:GDF630PGMBB (Black) has a gloss finish. All GE dishwashers in black (model numbers ending in BB) have a gloss finish. Black Slate appliances (model numbers ending in DS) have a matte finish. Thanks for your loyalty! Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - Sue
A:AnswerHi Joey,
We thank you for contacting us. If all of your other appliances are Slate, then the dishwasher, also being in Slate, will compliment the rest of your appliances well. Light can play a large role in how finishes are perceived. If you are worried about the Slate finish's look, we would recommend contacting a local dealer so you are able to see the finish in person. But do know that we sell full suites of appliances with finishes that will allow them to compliment one another for a complete look in your home. We hope that this helped to clear things up. Thank you very much for your question.
A:AnswerHello David. Thank you for your interest. We are glad to assist. This dishwasher model does not have the Fan Assist drying feature. Thanks for checking. Olga

A:AnswerHello. We appreciate you reaching out, though we hate to hear you’re concerned with your cabinets and drawers surrounding the dishwasher becoming warm when it runs. We know something like this may be worrying, and regret any inconvenience you’ve experienced. Our dishwashers are designed to maintain safe operating temperatures and comply with UL standards as well as our own strict standards. But depending on the cycle and option combinations used, it isn’t uncommon for surrounding cabinets/countertops/drawers to feel warm after a cycle is completed. If you’d like to check and make sure your dishwasher is installed correctly in the space, we do have installation instructions available. Those can be viewed on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. We hope this information is helpful - if you have any other concerns or questions, we’re always glad to assist, here or over social media. All the best. -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerYes! This is definitely the worst dishwasher I have ever had! Nothing cleans, nothing dries, nothing fits right and it’s noisy! Sorry you are experiencing the same issues, good luck!
A:AnswerHey there,
Typically glasses would go in the upper rack. You can view loading tips on page 11 of the manual. https://files.bbystatic.com/VuA%2BRyPIwCaN3BZqXRd3KQ%3D%3D/7D2B1382-3809-4411-A8BC-279F538179FE.pdf. Use only powder, liquid, tablet or pod (packet) detergent designed specifically for use with automatic dishwashers. Any other types of soap or detergent may cause excessive suds inside the dishwasher. This will result in a poor wash performance and can possibly cause suds and water to leak out onto your kitchen floor.
It is important to use high quality detergents such as Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent. To best prevent spots on your dishes we recommend the use of a rinse aid. A high quality rinse agent such as Cascade® Platinum™ Power Dry™ Rinse Aid or Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid will help
improve drying performance and
prevents film and spots from forming on dishes. Hope this is helpful. Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHello and thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize that your manual was not included. You can call 1-800-626-2005 with your model number and then request it be mailed to you. Here is a link from the GE Appliance website for the manual. https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000239-1.pdf -- Hope this helps. Geoff@GEA
A:AnswerHello- We appreciate your question and will be happy to help! This is a beautiful dishwasher with the added 3rd rack feature that is always nice. The Wifi for use with Alexa or Google Assistant is simply a feature. It doesn't have to be used if you don't want to use it. We hope this helps! If you have any additional questions, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA
A:AnswerThere is no electrical cord on the outside. Electric hook up is in the rear under the cabinet since the dishwasher is an under the counter model.
